On April 26, 2020, we experienced a high volume of fraud notifications. Farmers Bank has researched and analyzed all data concerning this event. Most importantly, no card account numbers or credentials of card customers were compromised. We have worked with our provider to make all cards impacted placed back to an “active” status for immediate use. Please contact your local branch if your card has already been destroyed.
We have invested heavily in account monitoring and will continue to do so. We sincerely apologize for the understandable worry this incident must be causing those affected and we are committed to providing a great experience.

Farmers Card Monitoring and Management:
I received an alert involving an unrecognized transaction, how was my information not stolen?
Farmers Bank recently underwent a card BIN attack. The BIN, or Bank Identification number is the first 6 digits of a card number that uniquely identifies the institution issuing the card. A BIN attack involves using a known BIN number, and systematically generating and testing the remaining numbers of the cards. These numbers are usually tested with small amounts to remain undetected. Multiple financial institutions undergo BIN attacks throughout the year. Farmers Bank was able to immediately detect these attacks prior to any transactions processed or card information stolen.
How is Farmers Bank keeping my card information secure?
Farmers Bank uses an intelligent risk management system using near real-time networks that monitors, detects and prevents ongoing card fraud. As your financial institution, we work 24/7 to fight, deter and avoid fraud ensuring your information remains safe.
What can I do to keep my debit card safe?
Manage your card settings using our FarmerBankNow mobile app. Customers can utilize the app to “lock” your card, disabling transaction abilities, when your card is not in use. Other features allow users convenient management of features including: transaction monitoring, inquiry messaging, status reporting, reordering and travel alerts.
What should I do if I receive another fraud alert?
Please continue to report any unauthorized activity as fraud. If you see a charge that you do not recognize, it may be fraud. Before you report fraud, please make sure that neither yourself nor an authorized user made the transaction. Please report unauthorized activity by promptly replying to the notification or contact our fraud center; an agent is always available to assist.
What if I have fraud on my account?
Contact our fraud center if there are transactions you do not recognize pending or posted to your account. Remember, you will never have to pay for unauthorized charges due to $0 fraud liability with Farmers Bank.
What if I lost my card?
Report your card lost or stolen if you’re missing your card or think someone stole your account number by contacting Farmers Bank (757) 242-6111, the Farmers Bank Debit Card Hotline (888) 297-3416 or through the FarmersBankNow mobile app. When you do, Farmers Bank will immediately lock the lost card so no one else can use it and issue you a replacement card with a new card number.
